I was happy to find Fuse in Wikipedia. The album is one of my all time favorites. I am fond of noting for others that every great rock riff from those days appears on the disk, drawing comparisons in my view, to Crimson, Deep Purple, Yardbirds. I missed seeing Fuse at the Fox Lake VFW in Feb'70-"7. I constantly tell people they must hear the disk. Can't say enough good about it despite a quirk or flaw here or there. Outstanding group effort. Strangely Ironic Neilsen disses the record and Craig Myers seems to have faded from the scene. I'd pay that guy for lessons. Love: Across The Skies, In A Window. Quite majestic.

Hi Jimmy...My resources page (follow the link above) offers a few pointers on how to find rare recordings. If none of those ideas work, the best thing to do is Google the title of the song/album that you're looking for, and you may find more resources. If you don't succeed the first time, you usually will on another day. Happy hunting! Cheers...Rarebird

Great site. My 14 year old son has just "discovered" Alvin Lee and TYA ... great info on this site, and led me to identifying & purchasing some of the later live recordings of this amazing band. Thanks for your hard work on putting this together.

Nice little site, so far I couldn't agree more with your reviews, which has given me reason to search out some of your recommendations that I wasn't aware of- namely Splinter's first album.

Your review of Alice Cooper's Da Da was spot-on! I thought I was the only one that ever discovered this one (and liked it!) Same with your reivew of Cheap Trick's self-titled release from the 90s. Again, I thought I was the only one who discovered this gem. Nice to see that these albums haven't completely slipped into the cracks of obscurity!

Keep 'em coming!

Far and away the best record review site i've come across. Apart from liking the second Ray Manzarek lp a bit more than you perhaps everything has been nailed excellently. A terrific guide to print out and take to record fairs. All the best

Good to see someone paying attention to some of the empty spaces in the catalogues of some of these bands. A worthwhile effort, and I am going to add a link to your site if it is ok by you. I am especially impressed by your info on the VU/Doug Yule 'Squeeze' LP. There's not much information out there.

Cheers,

-Martin.

Ditter and Rand: I contacted Cheap Trick's official fan club and asked them. They replied: "No one by that name has played with Cheap Trick. Maybe he was a session guy or something but he has NEVER been in the band." I hope that answers the question; it settles the issue for me...Rarebird

HEY does anyone know of a Michael Wenniger that may have played with the band Cheap Trick? Just wondered, wanted to verify this. If anyone nows, I guess it would have been in the late 90's or early 2000's. Please email me. Thanks for a heads up. Rand

Regarding the Cars. You left out Ric's FIRST and SECOND solo albums: "Beatitude" which featured the songs "Jimmy, Jimmy" and "Something to Grab For". "This Side of Paradise" featured "Emotion in Motion" and "True To You", both of which I heard on Muzak....go figure.

Brian...all three of the Splinter albums are out of print, but the LPs can usually be obtained on eBay or GEMM. To the best of my knowledge, they have never been available on CD. I hope this helps...Rarebird

Tim...According to stevehowe.com, Howe plays on Lou Reed's "Ride Into The Sun". That is the only song listed, so it may be Howe's only contribution to the album. While we are on the subject, it is generally reported that Rick Wakeman played piano on "Ocean" on that album. Cheers...Rarebird.
